Tatoi

Tatoi formerly known as "Ancient Dekelea" neighbours with The National Park of Mount Parnitha and is known as the summer residence of the formal royal family of Greece. The former palace is situated in an area that covers 10,000 acres and was built by the acclaimed architect Ernst Ziller. The palace played an important role in the history of modern Greece and it occasionally hosted great figures of the era. Nicholas II czar of Russia, Elizabeth of Austria, the king and queens of the United Kingdom Edward VII, Alexandra and Elizabeth II and Jackie Kennedy are some of the personalities that stayed there during its heyday. Nowadays Tatoi is a wonderful place for walks or bicycling in a historical setting. Tatoi is easily accessible from Dekelia Hotel in a distance of approximately 4 km.
